SEABEE BUILDER TRAINING
The USNSCC Seabee Builder Training is designed to introduce cadets to the foundational skills and knowledge required for construction and project management. This hands-on training program focuses on basic construction techniques and principles, providing cadets with the opportunity to learn through practical exercises and team-based projects. Staff cadets will take on leadership roles to develop their project management skills.
BASIC FRAMING:
Introduction to construction framing terminology. Hands-on practice in constructing wall and floor frames. Use of tools and materials, including measuring, cutting, and assembling components.
BASIC INTERIOR FINISHING:
Techniques for installing drywall and paneling. Fundamentals of sanding, priming, and painting. Overview of trim installation, including baseboards and moldings.
BASIC CEMENT MASONRY:
Introduction to cement masonry terminology and materials. Hands-on practice with concrete mixing, fortification, and finishing. Basics of creating stable and aesthetically pleasing concrete masonry structures.
TERMINOLOGY & BASIC DRAWING PACKAGE:
Introduction to construction terminology to enhance communication and understanding. Fundamentals of reading and interpreting basic construction drawings and blueprints. Hands-on exercises in creating simple drawing packages for small projects.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT (STAFF CADETS):
Leadership training in planning and executing construction projects. Resource allocation, scheduling, and team management. Evaluation of project progress and quality control.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Develop foundational skills in construction techniques including framing, finishing, and masonry. Understand and apply construction terminology and drawing interpretation. Foster teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills through collaborative projects. Prepare staff cadets for leadership roles with an emphasis on project management principles.
TRAINING OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of this training, cadets will have acquired a practical understanding of basic construction techniques and terminology. They will also gain valuable teamwork and leadership experience, preparing them for future roles in the USNSCC and beyond.
PREREQUISITES:
Cadets must meet USNSCC physical and readiness requirements. Prior experience is not necessary, but a willingness to learn and participate actively is essential.

Led by qualified USNSCC officers and subject matter experts in construction and project management.
